A great big “Helloooo everybody!” from me, Ms. Shoney! Let me tell you a little about me. I was surrendered to the rescue after some unfortunate health issues with my previous owner. I’m 8 years old and deaf. My deafness doesn’t hold me back from anything. My foster family is teaching me hand signals. I’m responding and learning quite well! It’s making life much more easier and more fun! I’m a happy dog - playing, training, loving and having fun - like any other dog.
My foster mom calls me her one-in-a-million foster dog ...  I’m really a sweet gal and I have a big, happy personality. I’m super duper affectionate and very well behaved. Low/medium energy and I care more about following you around than anything. Sofa time, easy walks, and soaking up attention are my favorite pastimes.
I’ve gained a lot of weight in my former life and need to take a few pounds off in order to stay healthy. My foster family got that started and will look for a home that’s willing to continue the diet.
I need a companion dog in my forever home, kids over the age of 8 (I startle easily) and an above ground 5’ fence. No exceptions so please don’t ask.
My foster mom wants you to know that a dogs ability to see or hear has absolutely no effect on their ability to love and boy do I have a lot of love to offer. I will make a loving companion and will be worth every second of the effort to teach me the necessary skills to navigate my deafness.
